I've read a couple of reviews that suggested they had problems getting different brands to link up.
I wanted to add my experience as a counterpoint, in that this worked fine for me.
I bought this adapter, the XAV2001 to supplement my existing Linksys PLK300 adapter kit. I was interested in the connectivity LED that shows the speed of the connection. That LED also works.
This worked flawlessly out of the box. It connected without any trouble to the two Linksys adapters, so apparently the Homeplug AV specification means something. All the adapters are of the 200mb AV type.
I did *not* try setting the security. I have little expectation that Linksys and Netgear can agree on that. If I try it, I'll edit this post.
