(More customer reviews)The EnGenius EUB9706 installed easily on Windows 7. In operation, though, it was a weakling. It showed two bars of signal strength and connection speed of 36 mbps on an 11g network. My netbook one room farther away showed four bars and 54 mbps. It was up to a third faster on downloads. I rated the EnGenius at three stars.
A few days later, I moved the adapter from the computer to a 6-port usb hub. Here, it provides 5-bar signal strength, 54 mbps connection speed and much faster downloads. I read that a hub's connecting wire can act as an antenna. The adapter now gives me 5-star performance. I'll average the rating out at 4 stars.
EnGenius tech support was the best. The tech guy took me through the resolution of a driver conflict (my fault), and he stayed on the line until service was restored. He did great.
