(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a card that works well with Windows XP 32-bit, then this card is for you. However, if you are looking for something that will work with newer Windows OS'es, keep looking. I have been struggling for weeks to get this card to work in Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 properly. I would definitely recommend the MSI card over this one if you are intending to use it in conjunction with Vista or Windows 7 (beta release, or otherwise). The card does work with Vista and Windows 7 and if you want to read webpages or check email, then you'll be okay. If you enjoy streaming media (to or from your PC), downloading large files or gaming on your PC, forget this card.
Linksys (now owned by Cisco) does not do a very good job of keeping their drivers up to date or resolving issues on their message boards. Do a Google search for "WMP54G high ping" (or "WMP54G packet loss"), and you will find many forum posts from other users experiencing the exact same problem I have with this card. I've tried every solution suggested and nothing fixes the issue...and I'm a fairly technical person, so it's not something I'm doing incorrectly. I will admit that this Linksys card works extremely well with other versions of Windows (just not XP Pro 64-bit or anything newer)...so if you're looking to upgrade or try and future-proof yourself somewhat when it comes to Windows compatability, do yourself a favor and skip this card. Go with MSI's offering instead. Just make sure you download the newest 64-bit driver from MSI's website before you install the card.
